WHEREAS, it has been proposed that all eligible employees of the City of
Alameda, other than Local 1' 3, policemen and Headith. Dbpartment employees, parties
cipate in the State Employee,s Retirement System as of 11.1 '31 1, 1957; and.
WHEREAS, the law of the State of California requires that a secret election
be held amongst said ellgible empEoyees to determine thbir approval or disamproval
of such participation, said election to be held in a manner prescribed by the City
Council of tha City of Alaneda;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF '4A3IMEDA that
the election referrbd to above shall be. held on 14' 314.7)4.7)7), September 26, 1956, from
the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M in the Council Chambers of the City of Alaneda,
City Hall, Alamoda, Ceddfornlo; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLD= that the election inspectors to control and. manage
said election sholl be the Secretary to the Retirement Board of tho City of Adameda
and the Assistant $ ecretary to the Retirement Board of the City of nimmmda; and

members of the existing Retirbment, Pension and Insurance System of the City of
Alanoda estafol1sned under Ordinance No. 673, New Series, and subsequent amendments,
mitt the exception of local firemen, local policemen and. local Health. Department
employees; and.
RE IT EVETEIER RESOLVED that the Secretary. of the Retirement :Board of the
City of Alameda im hereby instructbd to mail individualky to each eligAble employee,
who Is absent from his employment wlth just cause and excuse on fentembor 19, 1966,
an official ballot, to be marked. and returned by such employem in am envolopm pro-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED thbt a two-thirds majority of the voted cast by
the eligible employees shall indicate apmEoval of participation in the State
Emloybe,s Retirement System.
