RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALANEDA
IN THE MATTER OF THE ASSESSMENT IN THE SUM OF 43,946,872
UPON THE LANDS WITHIN RECLAMATION DISTRICT NO. 2087,
AND ORDER APPROVING ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, Prescott J. Kendall, Myron B. Dowd and Vaughn H. Clearman, the
Assessment Commissioners appointed by this City Council to view and assess upon the
lands in Reclamation District No. 2087 the sum estimated to be the cost of the
original Reclamation Plan (as amended by Amendment No. 1 thereto) on file in the
office cf the City Council of said City and to apportion said sum according to the
benefits accruing to each parcel as provided by law, have completed such assess-
ment and have filed en assessment list with the City Clerk of the City of Alameda
as required by law, and this City Council having appointed Wednesday, the 7th day
of November, 1956, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. of said day, at the Council Chambers
of the City Council of the City of Alameda, City Hall, Alameda, Alameda County,
California as the time and place when and where this City Council would meet for the
purpose of hearing any objections to said assessment, and notice of such hearing
having been duly given by publication once a week for two successive weeks in the
Alameda Times-Star, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of
Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, and the matter of said assess-
ment and the objections thereto having come on regularly for hearing on the 7th
day of November, 1956, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., and having been duly and
regularly continued until the 20th day of November, 1956, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock p.m., at the Council Chambers of said City Council; and
WHEREAS, only two objections to said assessment were filed or presented
to this City Council, to wit, the objections of LAURENTINE PETERSEN and LOMA
PETERSEN, claiming to be the owners of Parcel No. 1820, containing approximately
0.1993 acres and assessed in the sum of $432.33, and MARION PORTIA LYDE and FRANCIS
DORSETT WILLIAMSON, claiming to be the owners of Parcel No. 182B, containing
approximately 0.0575 acres and assessed in the sum of $127.66; and
WHEREAS, said objections have been duly heard and evidence, oral and
documentary, having been duly received and considered by this City Council and the
matter having been submitted to this City Council for decision, the City Council
being duly advised, and it appearing to the City Council that said assessment has
been made in accordance with law and should be approved as filed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows:
1. Reclamation District No. 2087 has prepared and filed with this City
Council an Original Plan of Reclamation together with Amendment No. 1 thereto;
that In accordance with said Original Plan of Reclamation and Amendment No. 1
thereto, said District has reclaimed tidelands, entered into contracts therefor,
and has completed a large and extensive public improvement; that this City Council
did heretofore appoint Commissioners of Assessment and that said Commissioners of
Assessment did view the lands to be assessed for the purpose of paying the cost of
said work of reclamation and have caused the same to he spread upon all of the
lands of the District in all respects as provided by law and the spreading of said
assessment is hereby found and determined to be the result of due contemplation by
said Assessment Commissioners of all elements necessary to arrive at a just an
fair apportionment cf said assessment and that said assessment and the list of
charges assessed therein contained arc, and each of then is, valid.
2. That the above and foregoing assessment as set forth on said assess-
ment list now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of lameda in the
sum of 43,946,872 he, and the same is hereby, approved.
3. That all objections to said assessment and to the list of charges
against each and every lot cr parcel of land assessed as set forth on said assess-
ment list be, and are hereby, rejected and overruled.
4. That this :order of approval of said assessment shall be endorsed upon
the one original and second original. of said assessment list and shall be signed
by the Mayor of the City of Alameda and attested by the City Clerk thereof.
5. That said assessment list having been prepared in duplicate, the one
original shall be retained in the office of the Reclamation District No. 2087 and
the second original shall forthwith be filed with the City Treasurer of the City
of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of December, 1956, by the following
vote, to wit:

NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
