RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
SUPPORTING THE RAISING OF THE LEGAL TAX LIMIT OF
ALAMEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, an election will he held In the Gity of Alameda by the Alameda
Unified School District on Tuesday, January 22, 1957, to raise the legal tax limit
of said District to $3.40 per •100.00 for a period of five years, from a present
$1.65 per $100.00 tax limit; and
WHEREAS, it is of extreme benefit to the City of Alameda and the citizens
thereof that such a raise of the legal tax. limit be approved by the electorate of
the City of Alameda.; and
WHEREAS, a failure to raise said legal tax limit will result in the
serious consequence of an inability of the Alameda Unified School District to
provide for the children of the City of Alameda proper school facilities and edu-
cational programs;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
the Council of the City of Alameda hereby endorses and strongly urges support of
the raising of the legal tax limit of Alameda T.TnIfied School District to $3.40 per
$100.00, which shall he voted upon at a special school election to be held Tuesday,
January 22, 1957, within the City of Alameda.

and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled on the 18th day of December, 1956. by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Haag, Hove, McCall, Moresi and eresident
Kranelly, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None,
