REQUESTING LEGISLATURE OF STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
AMEND LA'! RELATING TO TEMPORARY HOUSING STRUCTURES
SO AS TO ALLOW FOR THEIR CONTINUANCE IN CERTAIN
CASES.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda that certain
temporary housing structures within said City be allowed to continue to exist on s
basis other than "temporary" when a need for such structures is found in conjunction
with nearby- educational, military or eleemosynary institutions; and
WHEREAS, the existing law of the State of California requires that all
such temporary housing structures shall he demolished not later than one year after
the ninety-first day after final adjournment of the 1961 General Session of the
Legislature;
NON THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
tha Legislature of the State of California ish."reby urged and requested to so amend.
the existing law relating to Temporary Housing Projects to the end that temporary
housing structures may continue to exist when a need for such. structures is found
by the governing body having jurisdiction thereof for tho use of such structures in
conjunction with nearby educational, military or eleemosynary. institutions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be immed-
iately transmitted to the City of Alameda 's representatives in tbe Legislature of
the State of California.
