OPPOSING THE ENACTMENT OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 2132
RELATING TO APPROVAL OF HOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
11 COUNTRY PRIOR TO ESTARLISHMENT OF MUNICIPAL
GARBAGE OR RUBBISH DISPOSAL SITES.
WHEREAS, certain legislation has been proposed in the Assembly of the Legis-
lature of. California which. would . require the City of' Alameda to obtain approvpT of tEe
County of Alameda RonrR of Supervisors prior to establishment of city garbage or
rubbish disposal sites; and
!WHEREAS, the natter cf the establishment of such sites is strictly a muni-
cipa 1 n which the gpverning body of a municipality is well qualified. and.
able to 1 and is a matter which. is and shbuld :be solely within the jurisdiction
ofna municipal governing body;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
the Couneil of the City of 111tue0. hereby- declares its opposition to the enactment
of Assembly Bill No. 2137 and. respectfully. urges that such legislation be not enacted
into the law of the State of CAlifernia.
