of one of Uts former City employers and a. mrst faithful and proficient public offi-
nisi, the Honorable JAMES P. CLARK, judge of the Municipal Coort,
WHEREAS', judge Cirrk's service to the City. was manifold in that hr was
appointed to the position. of Deputy. Oity. Auditor on. February 1, 193S; to thp office
of City Clerk on October 1, 1944; to the office of City Attorney on October 2, 1951,
and finallyR to thp offiwe of Judge of the Iinicipal Court, effective january 1,
1956, in mkich. csprcity he was officiating at the time of his drath; anb
WHEREAS, Vwfge Clark's kndwirdge, tolerance, capability and integhnty
resulted in his performanne of the dutirs of each of Lis several offices wltE.
dignity and distinction; and
WHEREAS, his constancy in thoughtfulness of others, his lovable per-
sondlity and his keen sense of humbr engendered. the great esteem anb affection of
all. with whom he worldid and associated; and
WHEREAS, hp was indeed a dearly belpvod friend and respected official.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVOIR that, in recognition of the many years
of expellent service renkered. by Judge Clark spr, the inestimable loss duffered hy.
tho City through his death, the Council. of the City of Alameda does hereby express
its gratitude for the high standards exomplified by Judge Clark in. 1- public
service.
