URGING TUAT THE MENUFSE TO CORSOLlhATE THE ALAMEDA
JUDICIAL DESTRICT AND THE OAKBAHDAPIELMONIT JUDICIAL

WHEREAS, there has been presmnted to the honorable Board of Supervisors,
of Alameda County- a request to consolidate the Alameda Judicial. District with the
08:81hnd-PleGmont Judicial District; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda, which is actors:int-am with the Alameda
judicial. District, is a city and distriht with. a pmpuletion in. excess of 70,000
persons; and
ERN:a:5TC, it is conservativaly estimated that the population. of the, City
of Alameda, by- the year 1962, will. be im expose of 85,000; ona
WHEREAS, thercitisens.of the City of Alameda, under the population
figures set out above 8nd in accordanme Nfth a demonstrated need, are entitled
under the law and the facts to have a Municipal Count Distritt wheiFy within.
the,city limits, with a judge to be elected by the aforesaid cAtizens of the
City. of Alameda; and
ENDUES, the consolidation as proposed would remove from the control
oT the citizens of the City of Alameda the only court within. said. city, and.
would bm of great ihconymnienoe to said citizens insofar as the relative noh-
accessibility of a Manicip81 Court;
