Resolution 05413RESOLUTION NC, 5413 DECLARING THE OPINION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA SHOULD DETERMINE THE DESIRABILITY OF THE CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A TRANSIT DISTRICT FOR ACQUIRING TRANSIT FACILITIES IN THE COUNTIES OF ALAMEDA AND CONTRA COSTA AND REQUESTING THE BOARD,OF SUPERVISORS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING SUCH A DISTRICT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THE TRANSIT DISTRICT LAW CONTAINED IN DIVISION 10 OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP ALAMEDA that, in its opinion, the citizens of the City of Alameda should determine the desirability of the creation and maintenance of a transit district to be known as the Alameda-Contra Costa Tran- eit District, and that it is intended to organize said district of, and confine it to, the following described territory, to wit: All that portion of the County of Alameda included in and comprising the Second through Fifth Supervisorial Districts, inclusive, as set forth in Alameda County Ordinance No. 118 N.S., enacted on April 18, 1955 and including that portion of the First Supervisorial District lying wholly within the incorporated limits of the City of Hayward and all that portion of the County of Costa lying west of the eastern boundary of the Contra Costa County Flood Control District Zone 3-B, as set forth in a Resolution of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Commission enacted on Decem- ber 16, 1954; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County be, and it is hereby, requested to call a special election without delay for determining whether such district shall be created, also for the purpose of electing the first Board of Directors therefor in case the same is created and established, ell in accordance with the provisicns of the Act of the Legislature entitled "Transit Dis- trict Law" contained in Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code of the State of California; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall in no way constitute en endorsement or non-endorsement of the creation and maintenance of such a district. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be, and she is hereby, instructed to forthwith present a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County. * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regu- lar meeting assembled on the 17th day of July 1956, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Haag, Hove, McCall, Moresi and President Kranelly, (5).
