AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICES FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AND HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
WHEREAS, Section 34518 of the California Health and Safety Code provides that prior to
entering into a Cooperation Agreement with a Housing Authority, the governing body of any State puolic
oody shall hold a public hearing for the purpose of giving interested persons an opportunity to be
heard as to whether such Cooperation Agreement shall be entered into; and such section of the mentioned
Code further provides that notice of such hearing shall be published once a week for at least two weeks,
prior to the date of the hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda proposes to enter into a Cooperation Agreement
with the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda providing for local cooperation in connection with tne
development of approximately one hundred sixty-eight (168) dwelling units for living accommodations for
persons of low income in the area containing approximately 7.5 acres, now known as Western Project, at
Third and brush Streets in the City of Alameda;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEUA as follows:
1. That the City Clerk of the City of Alameda publish a notice, in tne furm attached hereto as
Exhibit "A, in the Alameda Times-Star, a newspaper of general circulation, on the llth day of May, 1970,
and the 20th day of May, 1970, for a public hearing to be held before tne City Council on tne 3rd day of
June, 1970, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of giving interested persons an opportunity to be
heard as to whether such Cooperation Agreement shall be entered into.
2. That three copies of the proposed Cooperation Agreement to be submitted to the City Council
shall be available for inspection by interested persons at the City Clerk's office prior to the public
hearing.
