Resolution 14804CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 14804 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO TO ACCEPT AND ALLOCATE 2012 URBAN AREAS SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) GRANT FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $79,920 AND THE APPROPRIATION OF $79,920 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT NECESSARY FOR GRANT REIMBURSEMENT. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated the City and County of San Francisco as the fiscal agent the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI); and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda Police Department, applied to Bay Area UASI for grant funding for costs of purchasing three RoboteX RAPID ORGANIZED AVATAR RESPONSE (ROAR) Systems; and WHEREAS, in its capacity as fiscal agent for the UASI grant, the City and County of San Francisco has notified the City of Alameda Police Department that the Department is approved as a sub- grantee to receive funding totaling $79,290 for the purchase of three RoboteX RAPID ORGANIZED AVATAR RESPONSE (ROAR) Systems; and WHEREAS in order to accept the 2012 UASI grant allocation, the City Council must authorize the City Manager or his designee to enter into an Agreement with the City and County of San Francisco to accept the 2012 UASI grant allocation totaling $79, 290; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA THAT: 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute an Agreement between the City of Alameda and the City and County of San Francisco, acting as fiscal agent for the Bay Area UASI, to allocate 2012 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Funds to the City Of Alameda in the total amount Of $79,920 and to negotiate and execute additional amendments and related documents without further Council action; and 2. An Appropriation of $79,920 from the City’s General Fund for the 2012 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant is Hereby Authorized; and 3. The City Manager, or his designee, shall negotiate and execute all agreements necessary for the implementation of this resolution. * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of May, 2013, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Chen, Daysog, Ezzy Ashcraft, Tam and Mayor Gilmore – 5.
