RESOLUTION NO. 00-90
AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE LEASES WITH
TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES
WHEREAS, telecommunications companies desire to lease Community Improvement
Commission property for the installation of telecommunications equipment; and
WHEREAS, the installation of such equipment will benefit the residents of Alameda
including the Community Improvement Commission; and
WHEREAS, negotiating and executing such leases could be coordinated with the City of
Alameda; and
WHEREAS, this coordination of tasks would be made more efficient by the Community
Improvement Commissioners' providing the Executive Officer the authority to perform these tasks
under certain limitations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Improvement Commission
of the City of Alameda hereby authorizes the Chief Executive Officer to negotiate and execute lease
agreements with telecommunications companies for the installation of telecommunications
equipment on Community Improvement Commission property provided the following conditions
are met:
1. The lease limits the construction of any new ancillary structure(s) to be less than 200
square feet total;
2. Installation of the facilities would not significantly increase visual impacts; and either
3. A. The project is categorically exempt under the California Environmental
Quality Act; or
B. The City of Alameda Planning Board has adopted a negative declaration,
which determines that the project and any proposed mitigations will not result
in a significant impact to the environment.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Community Improvement Commission of the City of Alameda in special
joint meeting assembled on the 5th day of July , 2000, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Commissioners Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and
Chair Appezzato - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
