OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 83 -9
AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSION TO HOLD A JOINT PUBLIC
HEARING WITH THE ALAMEDA CITY COUNCIL ON JUNE 28,
1983 FOR PURPOSES OF CONSIDERING A COMMUNITY
IMPROVEMENT PLAN AND REPORT THEREON FOR THE WEST
END COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AREA
Findings and Purpose:
1. The Community Improvement Commission staff has pre-
pared a Community Improvement Plan and Report thereon for the
proposed West End Community Improvement Project Area. Said
Report includes the Environmental Impact Report on the Project.
This Commission has authorized submittal of said Plan and Report
to the Planning Commission for its report and recommendations and
to the City Council for its review.
2. Pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment
law, this Commission desires to hold a joint public hearing
with the Alameda City Council on June 28, 1983, commencing at
7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue,
Alameda, California, for the purpose of considering said Plan and
Report.
3. Any person or organization desiring to be heard at
that public hearing will be afforded an opportunity to do so. To
that end, and pursuant to State law, the Commission desires the
publication of notice of the hearing in a newspaper of general
circulation. The Commission further desires written notice,
return receipt requested, be sent to all property owners within
the proposed project as more particularly set forth below. A
copy of said notice to be published and mailed is attached hereto
and by this reference made a part hereof.
4. The Commission further desires that copies of the
legal notice be mailed to each taxing agency levying taxes on any
property in the proposed Project Area, as more particularly set
forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY
IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that it approves
the convening of a joint public hearing with the Alameda City
Council on June 28, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, California, for the .
purposes of considering the Community Improvement Plan and the
Report thereon for the proposed Project Area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following actions of the
Executive Director are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved:
(a) The publication of the attached "Legal Notice -
Joint Public Hearing" not less than once a week for four
successive weeks prior to the aforesaid hearing in one of the
designated newspapers of general circulation, printed and
published in Alameda County.
(b) The mailing of a copy of the aforesaid notice
together with the Notice to Property Owners attached hereto to
the last known assessee of each parcel of land in the area
designated in the aforesaid Community Improvement Plan, at his
last known address as shown on the last equalized assessment
roll of Alameda County.
(c) Mailing of a copy of the attached "Legal Notice -
Joint Public Hearing" to the governing body of each of the
taxing agencies which levies taxes upon any property in the
project area designated in the proposed Community Development
Plan aforesaid.
BE IT FURTHER ratified, confirmed and approved that all

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Community
Improvement Commission of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 7th day of June, 1983, by the following vote
to wit:
AYES: Commissioners Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef and
Chairperson Diament - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
