HFSOLUTION NO. 4347
ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS, SPECIAL PROVISIONS AND PLANES
FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING, CABLE FCR CIVIL DEFENSE
IN EXISTING CABLEXONDITIT, CALLING FOR BIDS,AND,DI-
RESTING CITY_CIZMK TC_ADV]2RTit�r, SAYM.
WHEREAS, public Interest and necessity require the installation of cable
in existing cable conduit between the Alameda Sit Hall and the Franklin Park
Recreation Building (Civil Defense Control Center), located at San Antonio Avenue
and Paru Street; and
ti','HEEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared Spec If icat ions, Special Provisions
and Plans for said work, which are numbered PL7 4-51-2, and were filed in the office
of the City Clark on April 3, 1951;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT T2,SOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIAIF2DA that
the aforesaid Specifications, Special Provisions and Plans, numbered and filed as
aforesaid, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the performance and completion of the work speci-
fied In said Specifications and Provisions be, and the same is hereby, authorized.
'RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the '%uncil of the City of Alameda will receive
sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 o'clock P. M., on Tuesday, April 17, 1951, for
the furnishing to the City of Alameda of cable and of all labor, materials, methods
and processes, tools and equipment necessary for the installation of same, in ac-
cordance with said Specifications and Provisions. Bids must be presented to the
City Clark, in the City Hall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly
marked on the outside tProposal for Furnishing and Installing Cable for GIVI-1 De-
fense in Existing Cable Conduit," or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded9 will be awarded subject to the, provisions of the
Charter of the Cit-
y of Alameda, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest
and best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications and Provisions may be had by any prospective bidder
or, application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda,
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda. Times -Star,
a notice calling for sealed bids, in accordance with the provisions of this resolu-
tion and of said Specifications and Provisions.
1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly Introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled or, the 3rd day of April, 1951, by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
