AMENDING THE ALAEDA MUICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER VIII (TRAFFIC AND MOTOR
VEHICLES) THEREOF PERTAINING TO PARING
ENFORCEMENT HOLIDAYS AND CHAPTER XII (PARING LOTSAND PARING METERS) THEREOF , PERTAINING TO PARING
FOR MORE THA TIME PERMITTED IN PARING SPACE
that:BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Alameda
Section 1 The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amendedby amending Subsection 8-7.6 of Chapter VIII thereof to read:
8-7.Parking Enforcement Holidays
When any subsection of this article exempts holidays from
the parking restriction , holidays exempt shall be the day that the
following holidays are observed by the City:
January 1
Martin Luther King, Jr.' s BirthdayLincoln's Birthday
Presidents' Day
Memorial Day
July 4
Labor Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day After Thanksgiving
December 25
If January 1, July 4 or December 25 falls on a Saturday,
the Saturday shall be considered an additional hOliday.
Section 2 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending the holidays listed in Subsection 12-16.4 thereof toread:
12-16.Parking for More Than Time Permitted in Parking Space.
. When any section of this article exempts holidays from
the parking restriction, the holidays exempt shall be the dayobserved by the City for the following:

Section Tllis ordinance shall be in full force andeffect from and after the expiration of t irty (30) days from thedate of its final passage.
