AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
SUBSECTION 3-59.8 (b) (CABLE TELEVISION USERS TAX),
SECTION 3-59 (UTILITY USERS TAX), OF ARTICLE II
(TAXATION), CHAPTER III (FINANCE AND TAXATION)
THEREOF , PERTAINING TO USERS TAX ON CABLE SERVICES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Alamedathat:
section 1 . The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amendedby amending Subsection 3-59.(a) of Section 3-59 (utility Users
Tax), of Article II (Taxation) f Chapter III (Finance and Taxation)Thereof , to read as follows:
3-59.Cable Television Users Tax.
a. Tax Tmposed. There is hereby imposed a tax upon
every person in the City, other than a gas , or a water , or anelectrical, or a municipal corporation , in the City paying for
cable television service, The tax imposed by this subsection shall
be at the rate of five and one half (5.5%) percent of the charges
made for such service and shall be paid by the person paying for
the service.
section This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effective immediately following its final passage per Section 3-12
of the City Charter.
