Ordinance 2661CITY OF ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. New Series 2661 AMENDING THE ALAEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 2-1.1(A) AND 2-1.1(B) (1) / AND REPEALING SUBSECTION 2-l.1(B) (2) OF SECTION 2-1 (THE CITY COUNCIL), ARTICLE I (THE CITY COUNCIL AND MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL) / CHAPTER II (ADMINISTRATION) THEREOF PERTAINING TO STARTING TIME AND ORDER OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDAthat: Section 1 The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending Subsections 2-1.1(a) and 2-1.1(b) (1) of Section 2-1 of Article I, Chapter II/thereof to read: 2-1.1 Council Meetings.a. The regular meetings of the City Council shall be held in the designated location of the City Hall on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7: 15 p. m. / except when a meeting day falls upon a holiday, in which case the meeting shall be held onthe next succeeding business day at the same hour. Provided however , that the regular meeting scheduled for the third Tuesdayof the month next succeeding the month in which the General Municipal Election is held shall commence at 8: 00 p.m. All meetings shall be open and public , except as otherwise provided by law. If it reasonably appears to the Clerk of the Council that (a) the Council Chamber is not large enough to accommodate the number of persons likely to attend any meeting, or (b) special facilities other than the Chamber are required for a particular meeting, or (c) a meeting will constitute a joint session with another agencyto be held at the latter I s usual meeting place , or , (d) advantages exist in having an on-site meeting, the Clerk may, with consent of the Mayor give appropriate written or oral notice at the commencement thereof that such meeting will be called to order in the Council Chamber and thereupon continued to the time and placerequired by reason of the special circumstances hereinabovementioned.b. The regular meeting of the City Council shall be held and scheduled as follows:1. Commencing at 7:15 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. in the designated location: The City Manager , City Attorney, City Clerk and such other City employees as may be necessary shall give such detailed information in regard to matters on the agenda as Councilmembers may require. This shall be open and pUblic , and no vote , decision or other actions shall be taken thereat. Section 2 The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amendedby repealing Subsection 2-l.1(b) (2) of Section 2-1 (The City Council), Article I (The city Council and Meetings of the City council), Chapter II (Administration) / in its entirety. section 3 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
