AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE
AMENDING SUBSECTION 12-4.5 (B) OF SECTION 12-4
(PUBLIC OFF-STREET PARKING) , ARTICLE I
(PARKING LOTS), CHAPTER XII (PARKING LOTS AND
PARKING METERS), TO ESTABLISH PARKING RATES BY
RESOLUTION , AND SUBSECTION 12-13.3 (MARKING OF
METER ZONES AND PARKING THEREIN), OF SECTION12-13 (PARKING METERS), ARTICLE II (ON-STREET
PARKING METER ZONES), CHAPTER XII (PARKING
LOTS AND PARKING METERS), ESTABLISHING HOURS
OF OPERATION , MAXIMUM TIME LIMITS AND SIGNAGE
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Counci 1 of the City of Alamedathat:
section 1 The AlaMeda Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending subsection 12-4.5 (b) of section 12-4 (Public Off-Street
Parking), Article I (Parking Lots), Chapter XII (Parking Lots and
Parking Meters), thereof to read:
12-4.Rates for Use of Public Off-Street Parking
Lots.b. Parking meter rates shall be established byResolution.
Section 2 The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amendedby amending subsection 12-13.3 (a) of section 12-13 (Parking
Meters), Article II (On-Street Parking Meter Zones), Chapter XII
(Parking Lots and Parking Meters), thereof to read:
12-13.Marking of Meter Zones and Parking Therein.a. The Public Works Director shall cause lines or marks
to be painted upon the curb or street next to each
parking meter , designating the parking space for whichthe meter is. to be used , and each vehicle parked next toany parking meter shall park wi thin said lines or
markings. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle
across any such line or marking, and to park a vehicle in
such a position that it shall not be entirely within the
space designated by such lines or markings. The Public
Works Director shall establish hours of operation, and
maximum time limits , and shall cause signage to be placedon each meter which shall indicate days and hours ofoperation, maximum time limits, and any exception.
Such signs on parking meters shall constitute the
parking meter zone signs referred to in subsection 12-
16.
Section This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the
date of its final passage.
