AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING
SECTION 13-8 TO CHAPTER XIII (BUILDING AND
HOUSING) ADOPTING THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE,
AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 9 AND 10 OF SECTION 1-5.1 (d)
AND DELETING SUBSECTION 18 OF SECTIQN 1-5.1 (d)
CHAPTER I
The city Council of the city of Alameda does hereby ordain as
follows:
section The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by
adding section 13-8 to Article III, Chapter XIII to read:
13-8 ALAMEDA HOUSING CODE.
13 -8.Uniform Housing Code Adopted.
Except as hereinafter provided , the Uniform Housing Code
1994 Edition , pubJ.ished by the International Conference of Building
Officials , is adopted by reference and made a part hereof as
fully set forth herein at length, and shall be known as the Housing
Code of the City of Alameda.
13.8-2 Modif ica tion,
Hous ing Code.
Amendments and Deletions to the Uniform
Section 302 of the Uniform Housing Code , 1994 Edition , is
amended to read as follows:
The fees required for any permit required under this
code shall be those required for any permit required
under the Alameda Building Code Alameda Electrical Code
Alameda Plumbing Code, or Alameda Mechanical Code. The
fees for the enforcement of any provision of this code
shall be set by resolution of the city Council.
13-8.Copy of Uniform Housing Code with city Clerk.
A true copy of the Uniform Housing Code , 1994 Edition
has been deposited in the off ice of the City Clerk of the City and
shall be maintained by the Clerk for the use and examination of the
public.
13-8.Violation.
It shall be unlawful for any person , firm or corporation
to erect , construct , enlarge , alter, repair , move , improve , remove
convert or demolish , equip, use , occupy or maintain any building or
structure or cause to permit the same to be done in violation of
this code.
Section The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended bydeleting subsection 18 of section 1-5.1 (d) of Chapter I in itsentirety.
Section The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by
amending subsection 9 of section 1-5.1 (d) of Chapter I to read:
Chapter XI I
section The Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended by
amending subsection 10 of section 1-5.1 (d) of Chapter I to read:
10.Chapter XV
section 5 Any provisions of the Alameda Municipal Code , orappendices thereto or any other ordinances of the City
inconsistent therewith , to the extent of such inconsistencies andno further , are hereby repea led.
section 6 If any section , subsection , sentence , clause , or
phrase of this ordinance is , for any reason , held to be invalid orunconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity or
consti tutional i ty of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The
City Council of the City of Alameda hereby declares that it would
have passed this ordinance , and each section , subsection , clause orphrase hereof irrespective of the fact that any one or moresections, subsections , sentences , clauses and phrases are declared
to be invalid or unconstitutional.
Sect ion The City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby
directed to cause this ordinance to be published in the Official
Newspaper of the City of Alameda.
Section This ordinance and the rules , regulationsprovisions, requirements orders and matters established and
adopted hereby shall take effect and be in full force and effectthirty (30) days from and after the date of its final passage and
adoption.
