AMNDING TH ALAMDA MUCIPAL CODE BY AMNDING SUBSECTION
22.16 (ABANDONMENT OF VEHICLE PROHIBITED) OF SECTION 8-
(ABATEMENT , REMOVAL OF ABANDONED , WRCKED , DISMANTLED OR
INOPERATIVE VEHICLES) OF CHAPTER VII (TRAFIC AND MOTOR
VEHICLES), THEREOF TO PROHIBIT THE STORAGE OF PHYSICALLY
OPERATIVE BUT UNREGISTERED VEHICLES
BE IT ORDAIED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that:
Section 1 The Alameda Muncipal Code is hereby amended by amending Subsection 8-
22.16 (Abandonment of Vehicle Prohibited) of Section 8-22 (Abatement , Removal of Abandoned
Wrecked, Dismantled or Inoperative Vehicles) of Chapter VII (Traffic and Motor Vehicles), thereof
to read as follows:
ABATEMENT, REMOVAL OF ABANDONED
DISMATLED OR INOPERATIVE VEilCLES.

22.Abandonment of Vehicle Prohibited.
It shall be unawf for any person to abandon, park, store or leave or permt the
abandonment, parking, storing or leaving of any vehicle or pars thereof which is in an abandoned
wrecked, dismantled or physically or legally inoperative condition upon any private or public propert
not including highways withn the City for a period in excess of five (5) days uness such vehicle is
completely enclosed withn a building in a lawfl maner where it is not plaiy visible from the street
or other public or private propert, or unless such vehicle is stored or parked in a lawfl maner on
private propert in connection with the business of a licensed dismantler, licensed vehicle dealer or a
junard. For puroses of ths section, legally inoperative condition shall mean any co ndition, such as
expired or absent vehicle registration , which would render the operation of the vehicle on a public street
unlawfl.
Section 2.Ths ordinance shall be in ful force and effect from and after the expiration of
thirt (30) days from the date of its final passage.
