APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SUBLEASE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ALAMEDA REUSE AND REDEVELOPMENT
AUTHORITY, AS SUBLESSOR OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
ACTING THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY , AND THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA , AS SUBTENANT , FOR THE USE OF THE OFFICERS'
CLUB AT ALAMEDA POINT , WITH RELATED PARKING.
WHEREAS , on June 19 , 1997 the United States of Alameda, acting
through the Department of the Navy, and the Alameda Reuse and
Redevelopment Authority (ARRA) executed Addendum No. Three to the
Large Parcel Lease No. N6247497RPOOP68 for occupancy and operationof the Officers ' Club (Building 60) at the former Naval Air
Station; and
WHEREAS on October 9 , 1997 ARRA authorized the ARRA
Executi ve Director to finalize and execute Agreement of Sublease of
Building 60 at the former Alameda Naval Air Station between ARRA
(Sublessor) and the City of Alameda (Subtenant); and
WHEREAS, on May 1997 the City Council of the City of
Alameda approved a Concessionaire Agreement with Miraglia Catering
to operate the Officers ' Club as a banquet and conference center;
and
WHEREAS , a Sublease Agreement between ARRA I as sublessor, and
the City of Alameda, as subtenant, has been under development and
review and must be approved upon two readings , October 21 , 1997 and
November 1997 respectively, before completion of the
Concessionaire Agreement between Miraglia Catering and the City of
Alameda.
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Alameda that:
Section 1 The City of Alameda hereby approves and authorizes
the execution of a Sublease Agreement between the Alameda Reuse and
Redevelopment Authority, as Sublessor of the United States of
America acting through the Department of the Navy, and the Ci ty
Alameda , as Subtenant, for the Use of the Officers ' Club at Alameda
Points , with related parking.
Section 2 The City Manager of the City of Alameda be, and is
hereby authorized to execute 1 for and on behalf of the City of
Alameda , the Sublease Agreement substantially in the form and
containing the terms and condi ions and covenants as set out in the
Sublease Agreement, a copy of which is on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
Section 3 This ordinance shall be in
