AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2096 TO EXTEND THE EXISTING CABLE
FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH UNITED CABLE TELEVISION OF
ALAMEDA , INC., D/B/A TCI CABLEVISION OF ALAMEDA FOR SIX
MONTHS TO ENABLE COMPLETION OF FRANCHISE NEGOTIA nONS
WHREAS , Ordinance No. 2096 , adopted by the City of Alameda City Council on July 6
1982 , granted a non-exclusive franchise to United Cable Television of Alameda, Inc., for theinstallation, construction, operation and regulation of a cable television system for the City of
Alameda; and
WHEREAS , such franchise had an initial term of fifteen (15) years from the date of
acceptance; and
WHEREAS , the City of Alameda is in the process of renegotiating the cable franchise and
has extended the original agreement by eight (8) months; and
WHEREAS , an additional six (6) month extension is required in order to complete the
negotiations and finalize the enabling ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Alameda that:
Section 1.Ordinance No. 2096 shall be amended such that Section 3 Franchise General
Terms and Conditions , paragraph 1 , shall read:
United Cable Television of Alameda, d//a TCI Cablevision of
Alameda, hereinafter referred to as grantee , is hereby granted a non-
exclusive franchise for a period of sixteen (16) years and two (2)
months from the date of acceptance of ths franchise on the terms and
conditions hereinafter set forth.
Section 2 . All other provisions of Ordinance No. 2096 , as it has been amended from time to
time , will remain in full force
Section 3.This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expiration of
thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.

Ordinance was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council
of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd
day of March , 1998, by the following vote to wit:
AYES:Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt , Kerr,
Lucas and President Appezzato - 5.
NOES:None.
ABSENT:None.
ABSTENTIONS:None.
