APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
SUBLEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ALAMEDA REUSE AND
REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AS SUBLESSOR, AND THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA, AS SUBTENANT , FOR THE USE OF
BUILDING ONE AT ALAMDA POINT FOR CITY HAL WEST
WHREAS , the United States of America, acting by and though the Deparment of
the Navy, has declared certin facilties surlus at the (fonner) Naval Air Station, Alameda; and
WHEREAS , the Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority, as lessee of an
interest in the (fonner) Naval Air Station (acquired from the United States of America, acting
though the Deparment of the Navy) have immediate need to use the surlus propert; and
WHEREAS , such surlus propert may be leased to state or local governents
pending fmal disposition of such propert pursuat to the provision of Public Law 94-107 , 10 U.S. C.
2667(t); and
WHEREAS , the City of Alameda, as Subtenant , and Alameda Reuse and
Redevelopment Authority, as Sublessor , desire occupying a portion of Building One and adjacent
parking for use of City offices.
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAIED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that:
Section 1 . The City Council of the City of Alameda hereby approves and authorizes
the execution of the Sublease Agreement between Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority,
sublessor (as Lessee of an interest acquired from the United States of America, acting though the
Deparent of the Navy) and the City of Alameda (as Subtenant) for use of approximately 19 000
square foot of Building One and approximately 100 adjacent parking spaces.
Section 2.The City Manager of the City of Alameda be , and is hereby authorized to
execute , for and on behalf of the City of Alameda, the Sublease Agreement , substatially in the fonn
and conmining the tenns and conditions and covenants as set out in the Sublease Agreement , a copy
of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
