APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
AND THE ALAMEDA BELTLINE FOR A PARCEL OF LAD
ALONG ATLATIC AVENUE AT WEST CAMPUS DRIVE FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF AMERICMJS WITH DISABILITIES ACT
(ADA) REQUIRED UPGRAES AND A BUS BENCH
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda s signalization of Atlantic
Avenue and West Campus Drive necessitated upgrading of the bus
stop to meet ADA standards; and
WHEREAS, the space requirements necessary for installing a
sidewalk and bus bench at this location to meet ADA and AC
Transit requirements necessitated leasing land from the Alameda
Beltline (ABL); and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated the necessary lease with the
ABL and is recommending it for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Alameda that:
Section 1 The City of Alameda hereby approves and
authorizes the execution of a Lease Agreement between the City of
Alameda and the ABL for the parcel of land along Atlantic Avenue
at West Campus Drive for the installation of a sidewalk and bus
bench to meet ADA requirements and serve AC Transit riders as
described in the Lease of Land, attached to the City Council
report submitted to City Council on June 2 , 1998.
Section 2 .. The City Manager of the City of Alameda be, and
is hereby authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City of
Alameda, the Lease Agreement substantially in the form and
containing the terms and conditions and covenants as set out in
the Lease Agreement.
Section 3 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date
of its final passage.
