APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE ALAMEDA UNFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT , AS
LESSOR , AND THE CITY OF ALAMEDA , AS LESSEE , FOR
RECREATION AND PAR DEPARTMENT FACILITIES AT
HISTORIC ALAMEDA HIGH SCHOOL , EAST WING , 2250
CENTRA AVENU
WHEREAS, the Alameda Unified School Distrct (herein called "Lessor ) owns that
certain property located at 2250 Central Avenue , Alameda, California (herein "real property ); and
WHEREAS , Ordinance No. 2690 , adopted by the City Council on March 7 , 1995
approved the execution of a Lease Agreement between the Alameda Unified School District , as
Lessor, and the City of Alameda , as Lessee , for temporary City Hall facilities at Historic Alameda
High School , East Wing; and
WHEREAS , the City of Alameda, as Lessee , desires to continue to lease a portion
ofthe East Wing to provide for Recreation and Park Department facilities at Historic Alameda High
School , East Wing, located at 2250 Central Avenue; and
WHEREAS , Lessor desires to lease the real property to the City of Alameda on the
terms and conditions set forth in the Lease in the lease attached to the Staff Report presented to City
Council on June 15 , 1999; and
WHEREAS , the City of Alameda desires to enter into such Lease.
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAID by the Council of the City of Alameda
that:
Section 1.The City Council ofthe City of Alameda hereby approves and authorizes
the execution of a Lease between the City of Alameda , as Lessee , and the Alameda Unified School
Distrct , as Lessor , for Recreation and Park Departent facilities at Historic Alameda High School
East Wing, 2250 Central Avenue.
Section 2.That the form of Lease referred to in the above , and the terms and
conditions and covenants herein are hereby approved.
Section 3 . That the City Manager of the City of Alameda , be , and is hereby
authorized to execute , for and on behalf of the City of Alameda , the Lease substantially in the form
and containing the terms and conditions and covenants as set out in the Lease , attached to the Staff
Report presented to City Council on June 15 , 1999.
Section 4 . This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
