APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AN EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ALAEDA
AN EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT FOR USE OF 5.78 ACRES
OF LAD AT CROWN MEMORIAL STATE BEACH FOR A DOG EXERCISE
AREA
WHEREAS , on September 28, 1999, the Park Operations Committee
of the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) adopted guidelines
for processing a request by the City of Alameda for a dog exercise
area at Crown Memorial State Beach and voted to recommend approval
of this relocation to the full board of the EBRPD at its October
meeting and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is moving forward
dog exercise park from a site located at Alameda
Memorial State Beach; and
to relocate the
Point to Crown
WHEREAS, on June 1, 1999, the City Council approved the
relocation of the Alameda Point dog exercise area to Crown Beach;
and
WHEREAS , the area is suitable for a dog exercise area and is
compatible with the Parks and Recreation land use designation at
Crown Beach and
WHEREAS, there is no Use Permit required to lease the 5.
acre portion of Crown Beach for use as a dog exercise area.
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that:

to negotiate and execute, for and on behalf of the

effect from and after the expiration of thirty (30) days from the
date of its final passage.
