APPROVING AN AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF V ACANT PROPERTY
AT 2300 ALAMEDA AVENU , 2304 ALAMEDA AVENU AND 1224 OAK
STREET LEASED BY THOMSON PROPERTIES (LESSOR) TO THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA (LESSEE) FOR A CITY PARG LOT
WHEREAS , Thomson Properties (herein called "Lessor ) owns that certain real property
located at 2300 Alameda Avenue , 2304 Alameda Avenue and 1224 Oak Street in Alameda
California (herein "real property ) ; and
WHEREAS , the City of Alameda (Lessee) currently rents the real property ftom Thomson
Properties , Lessor, on a month to month basis rental basis for use as a City employee parking lot;
and
WHEREAS , Lessor desires to lease the real property to the City of Alameda on the terms and
conditions substantially similar to those set forth in the Lease attached to the staff report presented
to the City Council on April 17 , 2001; and
WHEREAS , Ordinance No. 2855 , adopted by the City Council on February 20 , 2001
authorized the City Manager to designate the use of City employee lots as public parking during non-
business hours; and
WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the City of Alameda to enter into the Lease for the
primary use as a parking lot for City staff, and a secondary use asa public parking.
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAIED by the Council of the City of Alameda that:
Section 1 That the form of Lease referred to in the above, and the terms and conditions
and covenants contained therein are hereby approved.
Section 2 The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute , for and
on behalf of said City of Alameda , the Lease of vacant property at 2300 Alameda Avenue , 2304Alameda Avenue and 1224 Oak Street , substantially in the form and containing the terms and
conditions and covenants as set out in the Lease , attached to the staff report presented to the City
Council on April 17 , 2001 , and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest to the same.
Section 3 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the expirationof thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
