AMENDING THE ALAMEDA MUCIP AL CODE TO
INCREASE THE COMPOSITION OF THE RECREATION
PAR COMMISSION FROM FIVE TO SEVEN MEMBERS BY
AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 2-7.2 (MEMBERSHIP;
APPOINTMENT; REMOVAL), 2-(QUALIFICATION;
VOTING) OF SECTION 2-7 (CITY RECREATION AND PAR
COMMISSION)
BE IT ORDAIND by the City Council ofthe City of Alameda that:
Section 1.
read as follows:
Subsection 2-7.2 of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to
Membership; Appointment; Removal.
a. The Commission shall consist of seven (7) regular members , and (1) ex
offcio member who shall be the City Manager or his/her designee and who
shall not be entitled to vote at any meetings or other proceedings.
b. The seven (7) regular members shall , upon nomination of the Mayor, be
appointed by the City Council. The term of such members shall be for four
(4) years and thereafter until the successor of such member is appointed and
qualified, and all terms shall begin in October. A vacancy in the office of any
such member shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment in the
manner hereinabove set forth.
c. A regular member may be removed by the affirmative vote of four (4)
members of the City Council (Ord. No. 1552 N.; Ord. No. 1934 N.
Section 2.
read as follows:
Subsection 2-3 of the Alameda Municipal Code is hereby amended to
Qualification; Voting.
All members of the Commission shall , at the time of their appointment and
continuously durng their incumbency, be residents of the City. The vote of four (4)
regular members shall be necessary for an act of or by the Commission. (Ord. No. 1552;
Ord. No. 1934 N.
Section 3.Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
aftcr the expiration ofthirty (30) days from the date of its final passage.
