APRIL 16. 1993
The meeting convened at 5:19 p.m. with President Withrow presiding.
ROLL CALL -
Present: Councilmembers Appezzato, Arnerich, Lucas,
Roth, and President Withrow - 5.
Absent: None.
93-186 City Council appointments to Navy Base Committee.
President Withrow stated the Special Meeting was called in order to
appoint four new members to the Navy Base Committee; two
nominations are to be made by the Mayor, one by Vice Mayor Roth and
one by Councilmember Appezzato; and four individuals have expressed
an interest in serving: Geoffrey Kline, Mark Chandler, Neil
Patrick Sweeney, and Larry Wagner.
Councilmember Appezzato stated he would like to nominate one of
four persons interested in serving, and so moved. Motion failed
due to lack of a second.
Vice Mayor Roth stated he would like the nominations to be the
Mayor's prerogative.
President Withrow noted three of the individuals have attended most
of the Committee's meetings; and he will nominate Mr. Kline, Mr.
Chandler, Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Wagner for appointment.
Vice Mayor Roth stated he would like anyone interested in serving
on the Committee to be given the opportunity.
President Withrow, with the consensus of Council, appointed Mr.
Kline, Mr. Chandler, Mr. Sweeney, and Mr. Wagner to the Navy Base
Committee.
ADJOURNMENT
President Withrow adjourned the meeting at 5:34 p.m.
