CITYOFALAMEDARESOLUTIONNO.14913 RESOLUTIONOFINTENTIONTOLEVYANANNUAL ASSESSMENTONTHEWEBSTERSTREETBUSINESS IMPROVEMENTAREAOFTHECITYOFALAMEDAFORFY14-15 ANDSETAPUBLICHEARINGFORJUNE17,2014 EWHEREAS,Section6-7ofArticleIIofChapterVIoftheAlamedaMunicipalCode ~establishestheAlamedaBusinessImprovementAreaoftheCityofAlameda(hereinafter \(3 "Area");and ~(1/t:~...,WHEREAS,theAreacomprisesalloftheWebsterStreetBusinessAreaincluded byreferenceonthemapandlistofinclusiveaddressesincludedinthisResolutionas ExhibitAandB,respectively;and WHEREAS,theimprovementsandactivitiesauthorizedbytheOrdinanceinclude thegeneralpromotionofbusinessactivitiesintheArea,thepromotionofthepublicevents whicharetotakeplaceonorinpublicplacesintheArea,thedecorationofanypublic placeintheArea,thefurnishingofmusicinanypublicplaceintheArea,andthe acquisition,constructionormaintenanceofparkingfacilitiesforthebenefitoftheArea;and WHEREAS,agreementsbetweentheCityofAlameda(hereinafter"City")andthe WestAlamedaBusinessAssociation(hereinafter"WABA")designatedWABAto administerBusinessImprovementArea(hereinafter"BIA")fundsfortheirrespective geographiczonesoftheBIA;and WHEREAS,WABAhasfiledreportswiththeCityClerkdescribingthesurplusor deficitrevenuestobecarriedoverfromFY2013-2014anddescribingtheimprovements andactivities,estimatedcostsandmethodsandbasisforlevyingtheassessmentforFY 2014-2015. NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDbytheCityCounciloftheCityofAlameda thattheWABABoardofDirectorsisherebydesignatedastheBIAAdvisoryBodyforFY 2014-2015;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityCouncilhasapprovedtheWABA assessmentreportforFY2014-2015;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityCouncilherebysetsapublichearingto considertheannualassessmentfortheAreaforJune17,2014atwhichtimewrittenor oralprotestsmaybemade;and BEITFURTHERRESOLVEDthattheCityClerkisherebydirectedtoadvertisesaid publichearingbycausingthisResolutionofIntentiontobepublishedonceinanewspaper ofgeneralcirculationintheCitynotlessthansevendaysbeforethepublichearing.
