ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth, and President Withrow - 5. (Vice-Mayor Lucas arrived at 6:30 p.m.) Absent: None. The purpose of the Work Session was for a briefing of Council by Department Heads concerning departmental budget proposals and impacts. [Fiscal Years 1992-93, 1993-94 budget] ADJOURNMENT President Withrow adjourned the meeting at 7:32 p.m. Respectfully submitted, DIANE B. June 9, 1992 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ALAMEDA CITY COUNCIL JUNE 9, 1992 The meeting convened at 7:40 p.m. with President Withrow presiding. ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers Arnerich, Camicia, Lucas, Roth, and President Withrow - 5. Absent: None. 92-433 Hearing to Consider Appeal of Non-Renewal of Dance Permit for Establishment located at 1544 Webster Street, Johnny's Cocktail Lounge. (Continued from June 3, 1992) [Councilmember Camicia abstained for reasons previously given and did not take his seat on the dais.] President Withrow stated the procedures for Hearing and witnesses. Present: Robert J. Logan, Heather McLaughlin, Douglas Dang, James B. Chanin, Julie Houk, Charles Triebel, Jr., William Rapoport, Jill Anne Stephenson, The following persons Debra Krauland, Paul Ernie, Attorney at Law, representing City Council, Alameda Acting City Attorney, representing Alameda Police Department, Attorney at Law, outside legal counsel, representing Alameda Police Department, Attorneys at Law, representing Petitioners. Attorney at Law, representing Officer Ernie. Court Reporter testified and were cross-examined: Witness for Johnny's Cocktail Lounge Police Officer, City of Alameda Police Chief Shiells responded to questions from Mayor Withrow regarding an Internal Police Investigation. Attorneys for petitioners and Officer Ernie made closing statements on the evening's testimony. Following brief recess, Council reconvened at 11:00 p.m., Withrow announced the Adjourned Regular Meeting scheduled evening will not be held, but Council will meet briefly in Closed Session, following adjournment of the Special Meetin and Mayor for this scheduled g. Mayor Withrow and Councilmembers Arnerich, Lucas and Roth each gave reasons for denying the Appeal. Councilmember Lucas moved to deny the Appeal. Councilmember Roth seconded the motion which carried by the June 9, 1992 following voice vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Arnerich, Lucas, Rotl and President Withrow - 4. Noes: None. Absent: None. Abstention! Councilmember Camicia - 1. President Withrow adjourned the meeting at 11:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, DIANE B. ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers Camicia, Lucas, Roth, and President Withrow - 4. Absent: Councilman Arnerich - 1. President Withrow adjourned to Closed Session to consider: 92-434 Labor Relations, pursuant to Subsection (a) of Government Code Section 54957.6 of the Brown Act. No action was taken.
