IN MEMORIAM TO HOWARD ROY FREEMAN, SR.
WITH HEARTFELT GRIEF, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death, of one of its
loyal employees, Mr. HOWARD ROY FREEMAN, SR., who had. been employed as a Skilled Laborer in the
Golf Course Department on October 16, 1940. Eventually, Mr. Freeman was promoted to the job of
Equipment Operator in which. capacity he was working at the time of his demise on November. 9, 1960.
WHEREAS, MX. Freeman had been a very faithful and efficient workman in the performance of
his duties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in recognition of his capable service during the. long
period of his employment and his amicable cooperation with his associate employees, the Council of
the City. of Alameda hereby expresses its sense. of personal loss and its appreciation. for Mr. Freeman's
earnest endeavors on behalf of the City.
BE IT FPRTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread in full upon. the minutes of this
meeting, and a copy thereof be forwarded to the family of Mx. Freeman, that it may extend to its mem-
bers a sincere. expression of sympathy and condolence in their bereavement; and
BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED, that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda adjourns,
it shall so in respect to the memory of Mr. HOWARD ROY: FREEMAN, Sr,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th
day. of November, 1960, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Collischonn, Freeman, Petersen, Schacht and President McCall, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
