HELD WEDNESDAY - - - - - - - S E P T E M B E R 12, 1979
Convened at 4:00 o'clock p.m. with President Corica presiding.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen OiDment, Sherratt, Stone, Tillman, and President
Corica - 5. Absent: None.
Receipt of the Notice and Agenda of this Special Meeting had been acknowledged by
the Councilmen and was on file. Purpose of the Special Meeting was for consideration
Of the removal of a Member of the Planning Board, an Executive Session for discussion
Of personnel matters, and action on the above matters if desired.
President Corica noted that although procedures do not require public discussion for
removal of a Member from a Board or Commission the Council would hear speakers on the
matter.
The following persons spoke in opposition to removal of Ms. Rosalie McPherson from
the Planning Board: Gail Steele, Member of Hayward City Council; Helen Freeman,
831 Laurel Street; Joan Narahara, 105 Garden Road; Robert Wood, 3150 Phoenix Lane;
Leora Feeney, 1330 - 8th Street; Bob Brewer, 2045 Buena Vista Avenue; Joseph Sullivan,
3221 Liberty Elizabeth Rogers, 1261 Weber Street; Linda Nelson, 3156 Santa
Cruz Lane; Li Volin, 1817 Yale Drive; and Rosalie McPherson, 1128 Marianas.
At the conclusion of the speakers, Councilman Sherratt made a motion, seconded by
Councilman Tillman, that Rosalie McPherson be removed as a Member of the Planning
Board; the motion carried by the following roll call vote: Ayes: 5. Noes: None.
Absent: None,
Councilman Tillman made a motion, seconded by Councilman Sherratt,that the Council
adjourn to an Executive Session for a discussion of personnel matters; motion carried
on unanimous voice vote - 5. After discussion, it was determined no action would be
taken at this time.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned
at 5:10 o'clock p.m.
