1978-06-30 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD FRIDAY JUNE 30, I978 The meeting convened at 8:30 a.m. with President Corica presiding. ROLL CALL: The roll was called and Councilmen Diament, Sherratt, Tillman, and President Corica were noted present, (4). Absent: Councilman B8ckam, (1). Receipt of the Notice and Agenda of this Special Meeting had been acknowledged by the Councilmen and was on file. Purpose of the special session was for the adoption of Resolutions establishing rates and fees to be charged for play on the Alameda Municipal Golf Course, and amending salary and position Resolution No. 8763, and consideration of an Ordinance amending the Alameda Municipal Code by Fee Schedules. ' RESOLUTIONS: 1. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Sherratt, who moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 8936 Establishing Rates and Fees to be Charged for Play on Alameda Municipal Golf Course." The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Diament. On the question, Mr. Malcolm Longaker spoke in opposition to the proposed increase in rates. Councilman Tillman moved the resolution be amended to reduce the rate for a monthly ticket for Senior Citizens to $10, with a $2 surcharge on each round. Councilmen Sherratt and Diament agreed to the amendment. On a Call for the question, the motion to adopt the resolution, as amended, carried on the following roll call vote: Ayes: Four. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Beckam, (1). Mr. Robert Hudkins, President of the Library Board, reported a Golf Course Utility Worker received the same salary as a Senior Librarian and alleged an inequity existed. He was advised to discuss this issue with the Personnel Director. - 2. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Sherratt, who moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 8937 Amending Salary and Position Resolution No. 8763 by Creating One (1) Additional Position of Police Officer and Deleting One (1) Position of Police Woman in the Police Department." The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Tillman and carried on the following roll call vote: Ayes: Four. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman The President declared the foregoing resolutions adopted. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES: 3. "Ordinance No. I93I Amending the Alameda Municipal Code by Amending Fee Schedules." Councilman Diament moved introduction and passage of said ordinance, seconded by Councilman Sherratt, and carried on the following roll call vote: Ayes: Four. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Beckam, (1). ADJOURNMENT: 4. Councilman Diament moved the Council retire to executive session for the purpose Of discussion of personnel (meet and confer) matters. At the conclusion of discussion, it was decided no action would be taken. 5.
