1974-07-15 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD MONDAY - - - - - - - - - - - JULY 15, 1974 The meeting convened at 5:30 o'clock D.M. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall with Vice President Corica presiding. ROLL CALL: The roll was called and Councilmen Beckam, Hurwitz and Vice President Corica, (3), were noted present. Absent: Councilman McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (2). 1. Receipt of the Notice and Agenda of this Special Meeting had been acknowledged by the Councilmen and was on file. 2. Councilman Hurwitz moved the Council retire to executive session for consideration of the Memoranda of Understanding for wages and benefits for City employees for the fiscal year 1974-1975, and action thereon, if indicated. Councilman Beckam seconded the motion which carried unanimously. After a five-minute recess, the Council reconvened in the Council Chamber for its deliberations. Assistant City Manager Creagh reported on the negotiations with the various employee organizations in the "meet and confer" process, which had been concluded. Councilman Beckam moved the Council conclude this portion of its executive session and the salary increases and benefits for City employees be approved as set forth in the Memoranda of Understanding. The motion was seconded by Councilman Hurwitz and on roll call vote carried unanimously. There being no objection, the meeting proceeded to "Resolutions". RESOLUTIONS: 3. The following resolution, as presented, with the salaries of those officers and employees not inserted and to be left in blank pending further determination by the Council, with the understanding that such final determination of those unspecified salaries would be effective as of July 1, 1974, was introduced by Councilman Beckam, who moved its adoption: "Resolution No. 8233 Designating the Number of and Providing for the Compensation of Certain Officers and Other Employees of the City of Alameda." The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Hurwitz and carried on the following roll call vote. Ayes: Three. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (2). The Vice President declared the foregoing Resolution adopted. ADJOURNMENT: 4.
