SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
HELD FRIDAY NOVEMBER 13, 1970
The meeting convened at 4:00 o'clock p.m. in Room 303 of the City Hall with President La Croix
presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5),
were noted present. Absent: None.
1. Receipt of the Notice and Agenda for this Special Meeting had been acknowledged by the Councilmen
and was on file. The purpose of the session was for consideration of the vacancy in the office of Auditor,
ex- officio Assessor, of the City of Alameda due to the death of Mr. Italo A. Calpestri, Jr., and of appoint-
ments to various Boards and Commissions of the City.
Councilman Fore moved the City Council retire to executive session for its deliberations. Councilman Levy
seconded the motion which on roll call vote carried unanimously.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the City Attorney was directed to prepare appropriate resolutions on
certain Board and Commission appointments, for action by the Council at its next regular meeting on Tuesday,
November 17, 1970.
It was agreed that this meeting would be adjourned to an adjourned to an adjourned special session on
Tuesday, November 17, at 4:30 o'clock p.m., in the Conference Room, No. 303, of the City Hall, for further
consideration of the subject of the vacancy in the office of Auditor.
ADJOURNMENT:
2. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned.

The meeting convened at 4:30 o'clock p.m. with President La Croix presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Fore, Levy, Longaker, McCall and President La Croix, Jr., (5),
were noted present. Absent: None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. The purpose of this adjourned special meeting of the City Council, continued from the special meeting
held November 13, was for further consideration of the vacancy in the office of City Auditor created by the
death of Mr. Italo A. Calpestri, Jr., on November 6.
Councilman Levy moved the Council retire to executive session. Councilman McCall seconded the motion which
on roll call carried unanimously.
There was discussion, during which the Council interviewed the City officer proposed to fill the vacancy.
At the conclusion of the deliberations, the City Attorney was requested to prepare for action by the Council
at its regular meeting to be held that evening, an appropriate resolution to appoint a City Auditor, ex-
officio Assessor, for the term commencing January 1, 1971, and expiring April 20, 1971, the date on which
new officials elected in the General Municipal Election on March 9, 1971, would take office.
ADJOURNMENT:
2. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned.
