1968-01-15 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON JANUARY 15, 1968 The meeting convened at 3:30 otclock p.m. with President McCall presiding. ROLL CATJ.: Noted present were Councilmen Bartley, Fore, La Croix, Jr., Levy and President McCall, (5). Absent: None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1. Receipt of the Notice and Agenda for this special meeting had been acknowledged by each of the Councilmen and was on file. The purpose of said meeting was for consideration of appointments to Boards, Commissions and Committees and to take action thereon if so desired. Upon motion made by Councilman La Croix, seconded by Councilman Bartley, and carried - the Council went into an executive session to discuss the prospective appointees of a "Charter Amendment Advisory Committee". Pertaining to this subject, certain deadline dates were established by City Attorney Cunningham by which time the Committee, the Staff and the City Council would have to take their respective actions. These would be for the purpose of submitting any proposed Charter amendments to the County Board of Supervisors for consolidation on the ballot for the State Primary Election to be held in June, 1968. The Councilmen then submitted their proposals for membership on this Committee as follows: Bartley - Messrs. Philip Durfee, Richard Lombardi and William S. Godfrey; Fore - William Geraghty, George A. Hackleman and Lawrence Stickney; La Croix - Herbert M. Robles, Frank D. McElhinney and The Reverend Mr. Wilfred H. Hodgkin; Levy - Jerry J. Jacobs, Kenneth Kofman and August T. Wiemken; McCall - Elvin Larsen, Karl E. Zigelhofer and Graham Tattersall. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution appointing these members and setting forth the duties of the Committee which would be presented for action at the regular meeting of the City Council to be held the next evening, January 16.
