SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON MARCH 29, 1966
The meeting convened at 5:00 o'clock p.m. with Vice President Rose presiding, due to the illness
of President Godfrey.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Bartley, La Croix, Jr., McCall and Rose, (4), were noted
present. Absent: President Godfrey, (1).
NEW BUSINESS:
l`/ Receipt of the Notice and Agenda for this special meeting had been acknowledged by the Council-
men and was on file. The purpose of said meeting was to consider appointments to certain Boards,
Commissions, Committees and Agencies - and to take action thereon if so desired.
Councilman McCall moved the Council go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Councilman
La Croix and unanimously carried.
Vice President Rose stated the most urgent committee appointees to determine upon at this time were
the two representatives to serve with the City Manager as an Executive Committee to supervise the
project of reconstructing the Alameda Municipal Golf Course. These were to be one member each from
the Advisory Golf Commission and from the City Council.
City Manager Weller expressed his thinking with regard to the objectives of said Committee. He
thought a weekly meeting would probably be sufficient to establish decisions for the ensuing week's
development of the project.
The representative from the Advisory Golf Commission was first given cnneideration. Following some
discussion, and by unanimous approval, Mr. Elliot S. Peterson was selected to be a member of said
Executive Committee.
The City Council representative was then given deliberation and Vice President Rose was determined
upon as the Council member of the Executive Committee.
Vice President Rose announced that the Executive Committee to work with the Golf Course Architects
on this project was comprised of Messrs. Weller, Peterson and Rose.
2. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned at 6;15
o'clock p.m.
