At this point, Mr. Well er stated hp would also like to make an or report on the two equipment contracts the City had which covered certain jobs on the Municipal Golf Course project. 8eexpleined that Mr. Caldwell, the project supervisor, had broached the matter to the Steering Committee and had requested that the present maximum amounts be increased by $3,000. on the Charles W. Jenkins' contract for final grading and shaping and by ¢7,000. on the Ralph A. Rogers' contract for equipmeut rental. This would result in said maximum amounts then being ¢11,000. for the Jenkins' contract end $37,000. for the Rogers' contract. Mr. Weller thereupon requested the contract amounts be increased accordingly. It was developed that the increa se in the se operations was due to the fact that the "fill material" was not available in such large quantities as had been expected. However, it was pointed out these additional costs would be offset by savings in other phases of the construction and that the project was still within the over-all estimated cost. Following some further discussion of the matter for the information of the Council, Councilman Bartley moved the City Manager's request be granted and the amounts of the two contracts in qudmtion be increased as specified.
