1964-08-25 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON AUGUST 25, 1964 The meeting convened at 3:00 o'clock p.m. in the Conference Room, City Hall, Alameda, with President Godfrey presiding. ROLL CALL: The roll was called and Councilmen La Croix, Jr., Rose and President Godfrey, (3), were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Freeman and McCall, (2). NEW BUSINESS: 1. Receipt of the Notice and Agenda of this special meeting of the Council had been acknowledged by the Councilmen and was on file. The purpose of said meeting was to give consideration to appoint- ments of officers and members of the several Boards, Commissions, Committees and Agencies - and to take action thereon, if so desired. 2Y/ There being no objections, the Council retired into executive session for its deliberations on these matters. Following discussion, it was agreed that Messrs. George B. Johnson and John F. Hanly, Jr., members of the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda, whose terms had expired on August 10, 1964, would be reappointed to serve their respective ensuing terms which would expire August 10, 1968. The President stated he would submit their names for appointment at the next regular meeting of the City Council to be held September 1, 1964, for appropriate action at that time. 3. It was the consensus of the Council that, in view of the absence of two of the Councilmen, who were on vacations, other pending appointments should be postponed until it was possible to have a full Council in attendance. ADJOURNMENT: 4. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned - to assemble in adjourned special meeting on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 1964, at 3:00 o'clock, in Room 303, City Hall, Alameda.
