HELD MONDAY EVENING, JANUARY 28, - - - - - - - - 1946
The meeting convened at 7 :45 P. 11. with 'resident Branscheid presiding.
ROLL CALL:
The roll was called and Councilmen Howe, Jones and President Branscheid (3) ,
were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Osborn and Sweeney, (2).
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES:
1. From Mayor Branscheid, presenting the Call and Notice of Special Meeting as
follows, which was read and ordered filed.
"CALL AND NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
To the Members of the City Council
City of Alameda, California
Gentlemen:
YOU AND EACH OF YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a special
meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda is hereby called
and will be held on Monday, the 28th day of January, 1946, at
the hour of 7:45 P. M. of said day, in the Council Chamber, City
Hall, Alameda, California.
The purpose of the aforesaid special meeting is to con-
sider and /or act upon a resolution authorizing Police Officer
George F. Rasmussen to attend a police school at Northwestern
Traffic Institute, Evanston, Illinois, during the period from
February 4, to Tune 15, 1946, and appropriate moneys to defray
the expenses thereof.

2. The Affidavit of Service, signed by Officer L. Hunt, No. 37 of the Police
Department, was also presented and ordered filed.
RESOLUTIONS:
3 ✓ The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Howe, who moved its
adoption:
"Resolution No. 3271
Authorizing Police Officer George F. Rasmussen
to Attend Northwestern University Traffic In-
stitute at Northwestern University in Evanston,
Illinois, and Appropriating Money Therefor."
The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Jones and on roll
call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Howe, Jones, and President
Branscheid, (3) . Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Osborn and Sweeney, (2) .
Thereupon the President declared said resolution duly adopted and passed.
ADJOURNMENT:
4. The Council adjourned to assemble in regular session on Tuesday evening,
February 5, 1946, at 8 :00 P. isl..
