SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
HELD MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 25, 1944
The meeting convened at 6:05 p. m. with President Godfrey presiding.
ROLL CALL
The roll was called and Councilman Branscheid, Howe, Osborn and President
Godfrey, (4), were noted present. Absent: Councilman Jones, (1).
1. The Call and Notice of Special Meeting was read as follows, and ordered
filed.
"CALL AND NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
To the Members of the City Council
City of Alameda, California
YOU AND EACH OF YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a special
meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda is hereby called
and will be held on Monday, the 25th day of September, 1944, at
the hour of 6:00 p. m. of said day, in the Council Chamber, City
Hall, Alameda, California.
The purpose of the aforesaid special meeting is to
authorize the attendance of the Vice President of the Council,
W. J. Branscheid, at the meeting of the Metropolitan Areas Com-
mittee to be held in Sacramento, September 26, 27 and 28, 1944,
and that an amount not to exceed $20. be appropriated for his
expenses; also to authorize the attendance of the City Manager
of the City of Alameda, Don. C. McMillan, at the meeting of the
Public Works Committee of the League of California Cities, to be
held in above mentioned City on above stated dates, and that an
amount not to exceed 20. be appropriated for his expenses.

2. The Affidavit of Service was also presented and ordered filed.
Acknowledgement of Service was signed by the following members of the Council:

3. Councilman Howe moved Vice President Branscheid be authorized to attend a
meeting of the Metropolitan Areas Committee to be held in Sacramento on Septem-
ber 26, 27 and 28, 1944, and that an amount not to exceed $20. be appropriated
for his expenses. The motion was seconded by Councilman Osborn and on roll
call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Osborn
and President Godfrey, (4). Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Jones, (1).
4Y Councilman Osborn moved City Manager Don. C. McMillan be authorized to
attend a meeting of the Public Works Committee of the League of California
Cities to be held in Sacramento on September 26, 27 and 28, 1944, and that an
amount not to exceed 20. be appropriated to cover his expenses. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Branscheid and on roll call carried by the follow-
ing vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Osborn and. President Godfrey,
(4). Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Jones, (1).
ADJOURNMENT:
5. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to
assemble in regular session on Tuesday evening, October 3, 1944, at 8:00 p. m.
