1940-11-08 Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA . HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 8, 1940 The meeting convened at 5:03 o'clock P. M. with President Weichhart presiding. ROLL CALL: The roll was called and. Councilmen Carrington, Maurer and. President Weichhart, (3), were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Godfrey and. Morris, (2). REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: vt 1. The City Manager recommended contract for furnishing an ambulance to the City of Alameda be awarded to Bill Wood. Motor Company, the low bidder, at the price of $1,997.81. The City Attorney reported verbally he had perused the respective proposals and found them to be correct. Councilman Maurer moved the recommendation of the City Manager be adopted; that con- tract for furnishing an Ambulance to the City be awarded to Bill Wood. Motor Company at the price of $1,997.81 and checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. The motion was seconded by Councilman Carrington and on roll call carried by the follow- ing vote. Ayes: Councilmen Carrington, Maurer and. President Weichhart, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Godfrey and. Morris, (2). vt 2. The City Manager recommended contract for furnishing one 1 ton dump truck to the City of Alameda be awarded to International Harvester Company, the low bidder, at the price of $910.53. Councilman Carrington moved the recommendation of the City Manager be adopted; that contract for furnishing a li ton dump truck to the City be awarded to International Harvester Company and checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. The motion was seconded by Councilman Maurer and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Carrington, Maurer and President Weichhart, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Godfrey and Morris, (2). V 3. The City Manager recommended contract for furnishing Class "A", Sixteen Inch Bell and Spigot cast iron water pipe and fittings to the City of Alameda be awarded to American Cast Iron Pipe Company, the low bidder, at the price of $3.06319 per foot for 4,300 feet. Councilman Maurer moved recommendation of the City Manager be adopted; that contract for furnishing cast iron water pipe and fittings to the City be awarded to the American Cast Iron Pipe Company and checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. The motion was seconded by Councilman Carrington and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Carrington, Maurer and. President Weichhart, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Godfrey and Morris, (2). 4. At this time, Councilman Morris arrived at the meeting and was noted present. 5.
