1942-04-14 Regular CC MinutesADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY EVENING, APRIL 14, 1942 The meeting convened at 7:00 o'clock P. M. with President Godfrey presiding. ROLL CALL: The roll was called and Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Maurer and President Godfrey, (5), were noted present. Absent: None. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: 1. , Communication was presented from Arthur P. Pollard, owner, and J. H. Pickrell, contractor, pertaining to house now situated on property known as 2025 Clement Avenue, which they request permission to move to new site tentatively known as 2015 Eagle Avenue, on the north side, 140 feet east of Chestnut Street. Mr. Pickrell was present and stated that Mr. D. J. Sueell would do the actual moving of the house. Councilman Branscheid moved that permission be granted to the owner, Mr. Pollard, the contractor, Mr. Pickrell, and to the house mover, Mr. Sueell, to move this provided regulations and provisions of all ordinances of he City pertaining to house moving are complied with. The motion was seconded by Councilman Maurer and unanimously carried. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: 2. From the Public Utilities Board, requesting the Council to authorize proposed sale of certain transformers to the General Engineering and Dry Dock Company in con- formity with provisions of the Charter. There being no objections, this matter was referred to 'Tesolutions". RESOLUTIONS: 3. The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Maurer, who moved its adoption: 'Resolution No. 2736 Approving Sale of Certain Equipment to General Engineering and. Dry Dock Company by Public Utilities Board." The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by Councilman Jones and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Maurer and President Godfrey, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared said resolution duly adopted and passed. ORDINANCES FOR PASSAGE: 4. "Ordinance No. 795, New Series An Ordinance Leasing Certain Portions of the Alameda Municipal Golf Course to the United States of America." Councilman Maurer moved the ordinance as read be adopted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Branscheid and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Council- men Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Maurer and President Godfrey, (5). Noes: None. Absent: None. 5. "Ordinance No. 796, New Series An Ordinance Permitting the Use of Building Materials in Substitution for Those Prohibited by the National Defense Regulations." Councilman Maurer moved the ordinance as read be adopted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Jones and on roll call carried by the following vote. Ayes: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Maurer and President Godfrey, (5) . Noes: None. Absent: None. ADJOURNMENT: 6. There being no -further business to come before the meeting, the Council adjourned to assemble in regular meeting on Tuesday evening, April 21, 1942, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.
