1934-06-05 Regular CC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALANEDA HELD TUESDAY EVENING • JUNE 5th, 1934 The meeting convened at 8 o'clock P.M. with President Murray presiding. The roll was called and. Councilmen Bruzzone, Eschen, Morris, Tiedemann and. Presidet Murray ( ) were noted present. Absent: None. The minutes of the regular meeting of May 15th, 1934, were read and approved, WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: 1 A communication from the City Manager, in reference to a petition presented at the last meeting of the Council, signed by citizens residing in the vicinity of Versailles Avenue, complaining of heavy trucking on that avenue. The Council was informed t] this traffic had been re-routed to follow practically the same route as the Key System busses are now operating over during the construction of the new Park Street Bridge. The communication was ordered filed. /' 2, A communication from the Taxpayers' League in reference to receipts and disburse- ments*for the first nine months of the fiscal years 1933 and 1934. A letter was re- ceived signed jointly by the City Auditor, F. J. Croll, and Messrs.,Jordan and Ticoule% Special Auditors for the City, in reference to the above communication, and accompanied by a financial statement for the years mentioned, setting forth that the statements made in the communication were misleading, having not taken into consideration un- collected revenues, and that no correct statement reflecting the true financial condi- tion of the City could be given until the end of the fiscal year. The communication was ordered filed. From Messrs. Jordan and. Ticoulet, financial statement for fiscal year 1933-34, as of April 30th, 1934. The statement was ordered filed. v/ 7 4. A petition signed by a number of residents, requesting the construction of two additional tennis courts on property adjacent to the present courts on,Fernside Boul- evard. The communication was referred to the Committee of the Whole for consideration at budget time. , 5.P/ From the Mayor, City Manager and Auditor, reporting the money and securities in the City Treasury had been counted on May 17th, 1934, at which time there was under control of the City Treasurer $531,118049, which was the amount which, according to the Auditor's books, should have at that time been in the City Treasury. The communi- cation was ordered filed. RESOLUTIONS: 6 Councilman Ituzzzne introduced and moved the adoption of - "Resolution No. 1843 Authorizing Acceptance of Grant of Easement for Highway Purposes, and Execution of Contract in Connection Therewith" Councilman Morris seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously 7. Councilman Eschen introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 1844 Authorizing Execution of Agreement with Department of Public Works, State of California." Councilman Bruzzone seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously. 78, ,Councilman Bruzzone introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 1845 Authorizing Mayor and City Manager to Take Necessary Steps Toward Securing Additional Allocation to Cities of Motor Fuel Tax" Councilman Morris seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously. ORDINANCE PASSED: 9.- The following ordinance was presented for passage: "Ordinance No. New Series Ordinance Consenting to the Establishment of Certain , Portions of Park Street as Part of the System of Highways of Alameda County" Councilman Eschen moved that the ordinance as read be addopted, seconded by Council- man Morris and on roll call carried unanimously.
