HELD TUESDAY EVENING, MARCH 5th, 1935
The meeting oonvened.at 8 o'clock P.M. with President Murray presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Eschen, Morris, Roebke, Tiedemann and Prsident
Murray (5) were noted present. Absent: None.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 19th, 1935, and the Adjourned
Regular Meeting of February 25th, 1935, were read and approved.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS:
17. 1. From the Mayor, City Manager and Auditor certifying to the Count of' Money under
control of the City Treasurer, in the amount of $397,364.71. The communication was
ordered filed.

/ 2. / From the City Planning Commission in reference to a petition for the reclassifi
cation of Lot No. 5, in Block "D", Alameda Station Homestead Stract, from a Business
District, Class V, to an Industrial District, Class VII, for the purpose of storing
an overflow of used cars, and recommending that in lieu of reclassification, a
revokable permit for the use of the lot for the purpose stated be granted. On
motion of Councilman Eschen, seconded by Councilman Tiedemann and unanimously carried
the recommendation of the Planning Commission was adopted and a revokable Council
permit granted to Mr. Frank Dietz, owner of the property.
/ 3./ From the City Planning Commission, requesting that they be furnished a copy of
the City Manager's report concerning the proposed yacht harbor, and that they be
given an opportunity to study the report and make recommendations before the Council'
** takes action. The communication was ordered filed.
v 4. V From William H. Gould, in reference to a track of the Belt Railway,- extending
in front of his property at 2304 Clement Avenue. The communication was referred
to the City Attorney.
/ 5•v From the North Side Protective Club, requesting permission for use of the Council
Chambers on Thursday evening, March 7th, 1935, for the purpose of holding a political
meeting. On motion of Councilman Tiedemann, seconded by Councilman Eschen, and
unanimously carried, the permission was granted.
6.,/ From the City of Piedmont, requesting the City of Alameda to pass a resolution
approving the proposed State Highway connecting link between low level tunnel road
and the City of Alameda. The communication was ordered filed.
7./ A petition from Louis A. Alexander, a disabled World War Veteran, for a
gratuitous license to sell popcorn and confections in Washington Park. On motion of
Councilman Eschen, Seconded by Councilman Roebke and unanimously carried, the
license was granted.

RESOLUTIONS:
10, Councilman Tiedemann introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1912
Request for Cancellation of Taxes on Property Acquired
by City of Alameda for Park Purposes."
Councilman Eschen seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously.
11 Councilman Eschen introduced and moved the adoption of
"Resolution No. 1913
Approving Proposed State Highway"
Councilman Tiedemann seconded the motion and on roll call it was carried unanimously.
ORDINANCE FOR PASSAGE:
12.' On motion of Councilman•Eschen, seconded by Councilman Roebke and unanimously
carried, the passage of
"Ordinance No.
New Series
Regulating the Operation of Pin and Ball Games and
Providing a Penalty for the Violation Thereof"
was, laid over for two weeks and referred to the City Attorney for a report.

departments thereof in the total amount as follows, was presented to the City
Council: General Departments, 4994.24; Police Department, 46.91; Fire Depart
ment, 477.20; Street Departent,41045.50; Health Department, 475.10; Park
Department, 4742.60; Golf Course Department, 4284.25; Store Department, 41929.65;
Social Service-Recreation Department, 439.07; Initiative Relief Fund, 472.00;

Councilman Tiedemann moved, seconded by Councilman Eschen that the claims and
bills against the City in the amount as listed and itemized in the List of
Claims agaihst the City of Alameda, filed with the City Clerk on March 5th, 1935,
and presented to the City Council at this meeting, be allowed and paid, and the
motion was, on roll call, unanimously carried.
15. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet
in regular session on Tuesday, March 19th, 1935, at 8 otclock P.M.
