1935-10-21 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON, OCTOBER 21, 1935.
The meeting convened at 5:30 o'clock P. M. with President Roebke presiding.
The roll was called and Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and
President Roebke (5) were noted present. Absent: None.
FILING:
The Clerk presented for filing fihing the affidavit of service of the notice calling
this special meeting.
COMMUNICATIONS:
4. /A communication from the Board of Library Trustees, together with a resolution,
relating to the construction of a Branch Library at the southwest corner of Santa
Clara Avenue and Eighth Street was, without objection, filed.
RESOLUTIONS:
3. Councilman Broyles introduced and moved the adoption of -
Resolution No. 1999
Establishing a Library Construction Account.
Councilman Eschen seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and President Roebke (5). Noes:
None. Absent: None.
4. Councilman Munro introduced and moved the adoption of -
Resolution No. 2000
Authorizing the Purchase of Certain Real
property at the Southwest Corner of Eighth
Street and Santa Clara Avenue for the
Construction of a Branch Library.
Councilman Broyles seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following
vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and President Roebke (5).
Noes: None. Absent: None.
5. Councilman Munro introduced and moved the adoption of
Resolution No. 2001
Authorizing Contract with Carl Werner for
the Preparation of Plans and Specifications
for the Branch Library to be Constructed in
the West End of the City of Alameda.
Councilman Broyles seconded the motion and on roll call carried by the following
vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Eschen, Morris, Munro and President Roebke (5)
Noes: None. Absent: None.
6. There being no further business, on motion of Councilman Eschen, seconded by
Councilman Broyles, the meeting adjourned to meet in regular session on Tuesday
Morning, November 4, 1935, at 11:00 o'clock A. M.
