1936-02-18 Adjourned Regular CC MinutesP ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING. OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON'. FEBRUARY 18th 1936 The meeting convened at 3 o'clock P.M. with President Roebke presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). COMMUNICATIONS: 1. From the City Manager, requesting authority to order such changes or extra work as aremquired from time to time in construction of Branch Public Library at Eighth Street and Santa Clara Avenue. Councilman Broyles moved that such authority be awarded, seconded by Councilman MunroEnd on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Morris and Eschen, (2). 2. From Edwin H. Andrews, in regard to gations. Councilman Broyles moved that seconded by Councilman Munro and on roll Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Eschen and Morris, (2). retainer of aoo.00 in matter of pending liti- the son of $100.00 be paid to Mr. Andrews, call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen ORDINANCE INTRODUCED: 3. The following ordinance was presented and laid over under provision of the Charter: ORDINANCE PASSED: 4. "Ordinance No. New Series An Ordinance Amending Section 31 of an Ordinance Entitled 'Establishing Districts or Zones and Regulating Therein the Use of Property, Height of Buildings, and Required Open Spaces for Light and Ventilation of such Buildings, and Re- pealing all Ordinances in Conflict Herewith, Including Ordinances Nos. 227, N.S., 319, N.S., and 338 N.S., Excepting, however, the Zone Map Heretofore Adopted by Ordinance No. 227 N.S., and Referred to in Section (1) hereof,' Relative to Public Buildings and Property", "Ordinance No. New Series Reclassifying Property (North Line of Pacific Avenue, 335 Feet West of Paru Street, Property Known as 1575 Pacific Avenue)", Councilman Munro moved that the ordinance as read be adopted, seconded by Councilman Broyles and on roll call carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, (3). Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Eschen and Morris, (2). FILING: 5. The Clerk offered for filing the following paper: Report of the Mayor, City Manager and Auditor, of Count of Money, on February 14th, 1936. BILLS: 6. An itemized list of claims against the City of Alameda and the several department- thereof in the total amounts as follows, was presented to the City Council: General Departments, $4605.03; Police Department, ' 8.13; Pound Department, $ .23; Fire Department, $292.41; Street Department $6.42; Health Department, $189.38; Park Depart- ment, $81.10; Golf Course Department, $5.39; Store Department, $1950.86; Social Service Department, $90.36; Initiative Relief Fund, $204.00; Street Improvement Fund, $281.21; Library Construction Fund, $94.85. Councilman Munro moved, seconded by Councilman Broyles, against the City in the amounts as listed and itemized with the City Clerk on February 18th, 1936, and present meeting be allowed and paid. On roll call this motion Ayes: Councilmen Broyles, Munro and President Roebke, men Eschen and Morris, (2). that the claims and bills in the List of Claims filed ed to the Council at this carried by the following vote: 3). Noes: None. Absent: Council- 7. There being no further business to transact, the Council adjourned to meet in adjourned regular session Wednesday morning, February 19th, at 11 o'clock A.M.
