1931-03-23 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, MONDAY EVENING, MARCH 23RD, 1931. The meeting convened at 7:30 o'clock with Council-president Schaefer presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Henning, Latham and President Schaefer, (3) were noted present. Absent: Councilmen Brodersen and Calcutt, (2). The Clerk offered for filing affidavit of delivery of call for special meeting. 2/ A commtinieationas received from the Oakland Bank, requesting the council of its own initiative to reclassify certain property on the north side of Fernside Boulevard, east of Versailles Avenue, from Class I, to Class VII. A communication was read from the Fernside Home Owners Association, in connection therewith. 3./ 4 ./ Councilman Brodersen arrived and was noted present. The council was addressed by Messrs. Keane, Strouss and a representative to the Owens-Illinois Glass Company. After discussion, Mr. Henning Moved that the Council of its own initiative reclassify the property as requested" the City Clerk post notices accordingly and that plans be submitted before the next meeting of the Council. The motion was seconded by Mr. Latham and on roll call carried by the foll6wing vote:- 'Ayes: Councilmen Brodersen, Henning, Latham and President Schaefer, (4). Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Calcutt, (1). Mr. Latham moved that the Council meet in special session,Wednesday evening, April 1st, 1931, in conjunction with the City Planning Commission at the hour of 8 o'clock. The motion was seconded by Mr. Henning and carried unanimously. There being no further business to transact the Council adjourned to meet in special session, Wednesday evening, April 1st, 1931 at 8 o'clock. Respectfully submitted, c\ City Clerk.
