1931-09-04 Special CC MinutesSPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY .MORNING SEPTEMBER 4th, 1931 The meeting convened at o'clock A. M. with Council-president Henning presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Brodersen, Schaefer and President Henning (3) were noted present. Absent: Councilmen .ucydecker and MuTay (2). The Clerk presented for filing the Aff'idavit of Delivery of Notice of Special meeting to Councilmen's addresses. Ordered. filed. A communication was received from A.C.Keane, relative to title of Oakland Bank concerning property of Owens-Illinois Glass Company and requesting Council to close Harrison Avenue, east of Versailles Avenue,and to file a disclaimer of interest in the land. Mr. Brodersen moved that the entire matter be referred to the City Planning meeting for their recommendation. The motion was seconded by Mr. Schaefer, and same carried unanimously. The Council then, upon motion of Mr. Schaefer, seconded by Mr. Brodersen, recessed for ten minutes. 4. Upon ,reconvening, Councilmen Brodersen, Henning and Schaefer were noted present (3). Absent: Councilmen 'Leydecker and Murray. The Clerk, as Secretary of the City Planning Commission, made a verbal report to the Council that the Commission after due deliberatton recommends to the Council the adoption of the suggestions contained in the letter of Mr. A. C. Keane. Mr. Schaefer moved the recommendatim of the City Planning Commission be adopted, seconded by Mr. Brodersen and same carried unanimously. 6.v Mr. Schaefer introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 1627 Providing for the Closing of Portion of Harrison Avenue formerly Washington Avenue, Lying between the Easterly Line of Versailles Avenue and the Southerly Line of the United Stated Tidal Canal."' Mr. Brodersen seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution, and same carried unanimously. There being ho further business to Come before the Special Meeting, the Council 'adjourned to meet in regular session Tuesday evening, September 15th, 1931, at 8 o'clock. Respectfully submitted,
