1932-08-16 Regular CC MinutesV REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF T. CITY OF ALAMEDA TUESDAY EVENING, AUGUST 16th, 1932 The meeting convened at 8 o'clock with Vice-president Leydecker presiding. The roll was called and Councilmen Morris, Schaefer, Shanly and Vice-president Leydecker (4) were noted present: Absent, Council- president Murray, (1). Mr. Schaefer moved that Loreme Beatie be appointed City Clerk pro tem, seconded by Mr. Shanly and same carried unaniMously. Mr. Shanly moved that Mr. CI. Elmer Dyer be appointed City Clerk at a salary of 3200.00 per month, effective as of Augusta6th, 1932. The motion was seconded,by Mr. Morris and on roll call carried unanimously. The minutes of. the regular meeting of August 2nd, 1932, were approved as read. The minutes of the special meeting of August 8th, 1932 were approved as read. Mr. Schaefer moved that the regular order of business be suspended,for this meet- ing, and that only matters be taken up that demanded immediate attention, seconded by Mr. Shanly and carried unanimously. WRITTEN COWUNICATIONS .„„/ From the City Manager recommending the exchange of deeds and sale of property be- tween Mr. Duchesnay and the Gity of Alameda. Mr. Shanly moved that the recommen- dation of the City Manager be adopted, seconded by Mr. Morris and same carried unanimous- ly. 2. From the Standard Dredging Company requesting permit for dredging and filling upon City-owned land near Benton Field, and enclosing bond of 35000.00 drawn in the favor of the City of Alameda; Mr. Shanly moved that -permit be granted and that the bond be approved, seconded by Mr. Schaefer and on roll call carried unanimously. RESOLUTIONS 3. Mr. Schaefer introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 1678 Transferring 33100.66 from the Electric Light Fund to the General Fund" Mr. Morris seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. 4. Mr. Shanly introduced and moved the adoption of "Resolution No. 1679 Fixin the Salaries of the Officers and Members of the Following Departments: Auditor,and Assessor, Building Inspector, City Attorney, Fire, Police, Health, Re- creation, Golf, Social Service, Street end Treasurer and. Tax Collector of the City of Alameda". Mr. Schaefer seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. 5. Mr. Morris introduced and moved the adoption of V "Resolution No. 1680 Resolution of Acceptance and Consent to Recordation" Mr. Schaefer seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and on roll call it was adopted and passed unanimously. ORDINANCE FOR PASSAGE The following Ordinance came up for passage and was read by the Clerk: "Ordinance No. Authorizing Extending Time and Interpreting Section "X" of Lease Dated August 7th,1928, by and between City of Alameda and Chadwick Thompson and Virgil G. Skinner, and Alameda Airport, Inc., Their Assignee". Mr. Shanly moved that the ordinance as read be adopted, seconded by Mr. Morris and on roll call carried unanimously. ORDINANCE FOR INTRODUCTION 7. The following ordinance was introduced and laid over under a provision of the Charter: BILLS: "Ordinance No. New Series Authorizing Sale and Exchange of Property" Claims against the General Departments amounting to 04,186.15; Police De- partment, $331.97; Fire DepartJent, 306.59; Street Department, 2390.46; Health Department, $77.65; Recreation Department, 0505.19; Golf Course,Department, $01387.25; Store Department, 200.63; Social Service Department, 0137.24; Initiative Relief De- partment, 092.40; Compensation Insurance Fund, 0334.93; Street Improvement Fund, 175.74; Refuse Disposal Fund, 0148.94 having been approved by the proper officials were listed by the Clerk as follows: Alameda Times Star Alameda Steam Laundry' Anderson, Janice Breuner, John Co.
